My choice for plant-based yarns

When it comes to hand-dyed yarn, most people think of wool from sheep, goats or alpacas.

But with the rise of veganism (a completely plant-based lifestyle) and the increasing awareness to animal welfare, the attention for crafting with plant based fibers also increased. Besides that, some people just like to work with plant-based yarn, because they're allergic to wool.

I consciously choose to dye plant-based yarns: there's already a lot of hand-dyed wool available, I don't think I will add anything new to that. The second reason is I'm a vegetarian and I choose not to use animals to make products that pay the bills. And last but surely not least: cotton, linen, bamboo and tencel are super versatile and make unique creations: I'm ready to show that to the world!
